ABOUT THE BOOK

Understanding of working capital management is important because efficient handling of working capital is crucial for the successful functioning of a business enterprise. Not only does the working capital facilitate the utilisation of capacities created by fixed capital, it also often accounts for a major share of total investment in business enterprises.

This book focuses on four major aspects of working capital management: size and adequacy of working capital, structure and efficient utilisation of working capital, financing pattern of working capital, and factors influencing investment in working capital. It also deals with working capital management in India with reference to food-processing industry. The book, it is hoped, will prove useful for academicians and practitioners in the area of capital and finance apart from benefitting students of management, commerce and economics.
